The importance of having a reliable time clock software in the workplace cannot be overemphasized. Employers need a way to make sure workers put in the time they are paid for. Employees, on the other hand, need reassurance that the time they spend working will be properly compensated later on. We do not really use some of the items they give us. We have been out of school for years now, so we don’t really need notebooks or ID slings. Still, I think giving promotional materials to customers is a good way to reach out and make customers feel appreciated.

Aside from that, the items serve as good marketing tools. They bear the company’s name and/or logo, so whoever uses it somehow becomes an unofficial endorser of the company. In our case, we give the items to other people who can use them, so we are, in a way, also helping them promote their brand by sharing their giveaways to our friends.

These promotional items do not have to be expensive. To be able to reach as many customers within a certain budget, companies usually prefer cheap promotional pens or mugs or calendars. Other people can easily see if one is using them, so they make good advertising tools as well.

Wearing shirts with witty messages can be fun. They not only help share what’s in your mind to everyone, including people you don’t know and just meet in the streets, but they also catch a lot of attention. It’s not seldom that we see companies (and politicians) advertising their products (or themselves) through t-shirts. And why not? A person wearing ad shirts is like a walking billboard — and this form of advertisement is so much cheaper than getting a real billboard.

Others just want to express themselves through the shirts they wear. There are team shirts for those who belong to certain organizations, sports shirts for those who love certain sports or follow top athletes, couple shirts for those who want to share their relationship bliss to the world, and even drinking t shirts for those who enjoy a good drink. The choices are limited only by one’s imagination.

It’s fun to show your creative side and be unique once in a while.

With millions of people spending so much time in front of the computer, doing stock trading online is now one of the most favored ways to manage one’s portfolio. Since we’re also planning to attend a wedding at the end of the month (no, not the Royal Wedding! I wish! Haha..), I might as well start looking for shoes that would also work well with a dress. For the rest, it’s just another Monday.

It’s just now that I realize that not only has December arrived, but also that Christmas is a few days away. Normally, I have a list of things that I want to get from Santa. But this year? None. Nada. Zilch. I guess work has been too crazy during the last quarter, that I forgot to stop and think about myself.

Then last week, I came across this YouTube video about a new sleek touchscreen smartphone called the Nokia C7:

This video alone got me into thinking:

Do I want a Nokia C7 for Christmas?

To answer this, I first looked into the phone specifications. Simply put, my jaw dropped. Here are some of the features that Nokia C7 is proudly bringing onto the table:

Integrated social networks. People who have accounts on Facebook or Twitter (that’s practically EVERYONE) can receive live updates directly through the phone’s home screen. The features page at Nokia Europe says that I can update all of my social networks at the same time. That’s perfect for advertising my fledgling websites on the fly!

Awesome phone and screen design. Its body is sleek and classic, with its polished stainless steel frame. What I love more, though, is the amazingly vibrant screen. The images look crystal clear! It also doesn’t hurt to have a great method of navigating the phone’s contents: pinch to zoom, flick to scroll and tap to select.

WiFi ready. This is one of the features that I need my phone to have. With my multiple websites needing regular updates, I need wireless internet capability. Fortunately, Nokia C7 has WLAN technology, which enables me to connect to any open wireless network in the city.

Great mobile entertainment experience. Nokia C7 is packed with features to satisfy my thirst for entertainment. It has Web TV installed, which means I can watch my favorite TV shows while on the move. My inner music geek will definitely love the built-in media player and the FM transmitter. Don’t forget the 8 megapixel camera!

Access to the Ovi Store. While it cannot compete with the fully-loaded Apple App store, Ovi brings exciting new applications for the Nokia C7. I’m an avid music downloader and certified gamer, so having an easy access to the Ovi Store is great.

All in all, my answer to the question is a resounding YES!

After calming my excitement over the Nokia C7, I asked myself this:

Why do I deserve an awesome gift this Christmas?

To answer this question, I went through the things that I have accomplished for the year:

I served my country through my websites. I’m currently maintaining eight websites dedicated to showcasing Davao City and the Philippines.

I made time for friends. This year, I was able to rekindle past friendships and make new ones. I hope to do the same in the coming year.

I survived a crisis. My father suffered a stroke this year. It was a difficult year, but my family got together to see through this ordeal. The fight isn’t over (he’s still under continuous treatment), but I am not quitting.

With these, I’m sure I have made it on Santa’s list (after checking it twice, of course). And so, it is with great pride that I shout out to the universe: I deserve a Nokia C7!

Our TVs are ready for those who want to watch cartoons on cable or on DVD. I have taken the dumbbells off the Orbitrac, which they want to play with when they’re here. I wish I had that enthusiasm! I sometimes think they spent more time on it than I did. We are also moving breakables out of the way. We can’t leave the flower vases and indoor plants where we usually have them, unless we want new ones (that would be a great excuse!).

Plus, I am now busy scouring the Web for interesting games that will keep them from having to always run around until exhaustion. You need to have them sit down too. Otherwise, they will play as much as they can and they get so tired they would not have the energy to attend school the next morning! The good thing is that it is not really so difficult to find driving games for the active little boys and dress up games for the little girls. There are several of them around for kids to choose from.

I even found puzzle games that the ‘kids at heart’ will find enjoyable. I remember the time when my friends at the office spend their noon breaks not to eat lunch or to take a nap, but to play games online. It’s not such a bad idea, as I read that playing puzzle games can also enhance mental skills. It is always good to do brain exercises to avoid dementia later in life, right? Well, I have to go now and finish my Ancient Jewels puzzle game.

The combination may be changed by twisting the lock and setting a new set of numbers. I keep the padlock in my bag unlocked, and the twisting and bumping may have caused the change in the combination key. Anyway, I had to get a new one. I was thinking of getting the regular lock and key to avoid another incident like this happening, but I have misplaced a lot of keys in the past that a combination padlock still seems to be a more convenient option for me. I just need to remember to lock the darn thing when not in use to avoid twisting it and accidentally changing the magic combo.

I just wish our lockers come with built-in padlocks so I would not have to buy one on my own and also not have to bring it with me when I’m not using the locker. Well, in line with wishes, I also wish we could have those really nice executive wood lockers. I think wood grain designer lockers just look great in a professional environment. Checking your things in designer lockers makes you feel you’re heading off not to hard labor but to smart work.

Find problems from different sources and try to solve them. It is best to start with solved problems, so you can compare your solutions later. Having a study partner is advisable too, so you can help each other when there are things that may be difficult to understand. Getting a tutor is another great idea. Someone who has studied and mastered the topics will be very helpful in one’s study of Algebra.

With how technology has interlinked everyone these days, it is not too difficult to find a reliable tutor even online. Whether you’re studying for 5th grade math or for college level algebra, there are several online tutors willing and able to help. When you think of it, having an online tutor is like having an Algebra solver beside you whenever and wherever you need one. All you need to do is get connected.

There is really no reason to fret when studying Math. You only need to commit to constant practice. If you’re not confident on doing problems by yourself, whether you’re working on line plot, ratios, fractions, polynomials or word problems, be aware that there are several tools online that can help you.
