Toinks!

Senator Mar Roxas, the Liberal Party’s vice presidential candidate, and broadcaster Korina Sanchez will finally tie the knot this afternoon at Santo Domingo Church in Quezon City.

Mar will be wearing an organza camisa chino under the piña barong while Korina will be wearing a serpentina style gown by Pepito Albert.

With the passing of President Cory Aquino, who was supposed to be one of the wedding’s principal sponsors, the couple asked Senator Noynoy Aquino, the Liberal Party’s presidential candidate and the only son of the late President Cory, to be a sponsor instead.

Everything seems in order, except for the fact that Noynoy also happens to be Korina’s ex-boyfriend. Toinks! I don’t know about you, but it seems weird having an ex-boyfriend stand as your ninong. I would have Balsy (President Cory’s eldest child) as ninang, if it were me.

But hey, it’s their wedding. I guess they have the right to do whatever fits best into their (political) plans.
