Toinks!

While Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was shown in 2003, my husband and I have actually not seen the movie until last night. Yep, a lot of my friends were quite surprised really. This first installment of the Pirates of the Carribean series was the fourth highest grossing film of 2003, and we were not part of the movie-going crowd that made it as such.

We thought it was an “Oscar award-winning movie” — that’s what we call those long, boring, all-talk movies that often get the nod of big award-giving bodies like the Academy Awards.

Anyway, as most of you may already know (since most of you may have seen the film 6 years ago!), Pirates was different. It’s fresh and very entertaining. I enjoyed the storyline, maybe except how it ended. I think it was a bit mushy, having to simply release Captain Jack Sparrow and Will Turner on the account of Elizabeth’s declaration of support.

Overall, though, I can say that I am looking forward to Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.
